Using Easytrip RFID for Hassle-Free Toll Payments

Toll roads significantly enhance travel experiences by providing faster, more convenient journeys and reducing traffic congestion. They are also essential for economic development, facilitating the smooth flow of goods and ensuring punctual arrivals.

Toll roads are adopting RFID technology for automatic toll payments to enhance traveler convenience. Systems like Easytrip utilize this technology. It eliminates manual transactions at toll booths, thus improving travel efficiency, reducing congestion, and enhancing safety.

What Is Easytrip?

Easytrip is an electronic toll collection system used on major expressways in the Philippines. It allows motorists to pay toll fees electronically using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, streamlining the toll payment process and reducing congestion at toll plazas.

Easytrip Services Corporation, a Metro Pacific Tollway Company, is the exclusive electronic toll collection system integrator and provider for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Connector, Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), C5 Link Flyover, and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).

The Benefits of Easytrip to Motorists

Cashless toll payments using Easytrip RFID offer several benefits for travelers, including:

  • Easy RFID Account Management: Contactless transactions enable users to reload and manage their Easytrip RFID accounts online or through the MPT DriveHub mobile app. This includes real-time balance checking and reloading, enhancing convenience and control for travelers.
  • Convenience: Cashless toll payment using Easytrip RFID eliminates the need for motorists to carry physical cash or stop at toll booths to pay toll fees. This streamlines the toll payment process and reduces drivers’ travel time.
  • Faster Transactions: Cashless toll payments are electronically processed, leading to faster processing at toll plazas. This helps reduce congestion and long queues, particularly during peak travel times.
  • Safety: Cashless toll payment minimizes interactions between motorists and toll booth operators, reducing the risk of accidents and the spread of contagious diseases.

How to Register for an Easytrip RFID Account

Acquiring an Easytrip RFID account is a simple and convenient process. Simply follow these steps to enjoy a hassle-free way to pay toll fees and navigate through toll plazas seamlessly.

  1. Download and fill out the registration form. You may also ask for one at Easytrip stations. Prepare the additional requirements, such as the type of vehicle, subscription form, the vehicle’s OR/CR, and driver’s license. You may learn more about the requirements here.
  2. Visit any Easytrip station within NLEX, CAVITEX, SCTEX, CALAX, or C5 Link. Present the reference number obtained during registration and pay for the initial load. The initial load is consumable and has no expiry. The fee for acquiring an Easytrip RFID varies depending on the station location – South stations require a ₱200 fee, and North stations require ₱500.
  3. Bring the car intended for RFID installation. The RFID sticker will be installed either on the windshield or the headlights.
  4. Upon completion of the installation process, motorists will receive an RFID card containing a QR code and other essential information.
